Author Joe Muggs and photographer Brian David Stevens will be joined for a Q&A by Mykaell Riley and other icons of Soundsystem Culture - we hope you'll join us there!
We're also excited to share that the author of Foreground Music, Graham Duff, will be accompanying legendary punk band Wire on their upcoming tour, starting in late January.
Graham will be reading excerpts from Foreground Music at six dates around the UK:
“A must have for those of us who escaped our parents’ terrible musical tastes. A love letter to the music and period that defined a generation. Full of joy and pathos, it left me yearning for a world before ‘X Factor’ when music was about something.”
– Steve Coogan
Foreground Music is also available as an audiobook! Free to listen to on Amazon's Audible, Graham himself narrates the tales of 40 years of musical evolution and subversive subcultures.
Lastly, editors of Of Mud & Flame: The Penda's Fen Sourcebook, Matthew Harle and James Machin, will join BFI curator William Fowler in conversation for a special event for all fans of David Rudkin's 1974 cult classic film, Penda's Fen. Harle and Machin will be discussing the book’s conception and creation in this event hosted at Southbank's BFI Reuben Library.
Location: BFI Reuben Library • BFI Southbank, SE1 8XT
Date: Monday 3rd Feb
Time: 18:30
