Hello,
Jamie and Mark at Strange Attractor Press here, hoping that you and yours are safe and well.
We are taking the Covid-19 situation seriously, as are our distributors MIT Press and our online sales facilitators State 51.
Book publishing is a complex business involving long distribution chains and large number of people to make it work. Unsurprisingly, therefore, we're sorry to report that we expect there to be serious disruption to our schedule over the coming months.
We are working hard to try to get our next four titles – due to be published through April and May – into distribution over the next few weeks but as with everything else at present, we're unable to make confident pronouncements. These are:
– Rated SavX, by Savage Pencil
– Liberty Realm, by Cathy Ward
– There is a Graveyard that Dwells in Man, edited by David Tibet
– Hawkwind: Days of The Underground, by Joe Banks
We appreciate that the delays are frustrating, especially for those of you who have been waiting some time for Days of the Underground, but please bear with us over the coming weeks. Your support is crucial to our survival as a publishing house and we're eternally grateful to those of you who have already helped to bring us this far.
We are hoping to be able to add some archival audio material to our Bandcamp page over the coming weeks, something that we can offer for free without involving physical distribution chains.
Meanwhile we would urge you to please take the Covid-19 situation seriously – practice vigilance, stay away from crowds, wash your hands and look out for those around you.
Best wishes,
Jamie Sutcliffe
