Hi Folks

We're contacting you on behalf of our great friends and colleagues over at music and culture web site The Quietus, who need all of our help in sustaining the brilliant work that they, their team, and their writers – including, at various times, Mark and Jamie of SAP – have been doing over the past 15 years or so.

The Quietus and SAP share numerous writers and friends in common, as well as an understanding of the essential role that truly independent publishing spaces play in the wider culture, and the difficulty of maintaining them. Trust us, it's not easy!

So do please consider helping out if you can, from just £5 a month.

"We are party to the same violent forces which have closed countless magazines and websites over the last five years and which are currently threatening some of the biggest names in publishing worldwide." Writes editor, and Jolly Lad author, John Doran."We have recently had to cut back what the Quietus does, closing down our film and arts section and placing our books section on ice. In order to protect the rest of what we do, we need 350 new subscribers. This is a tiny fraction of the millions who read the site annually, but those who sign up will save this site, securing its short to medium term future, allowing us to cover (and provide) the best music being produced today."

You can read more from John here, or jump straight to the subscriptions page here.

Thanks, Jamie and Mark.
